AI Club for High School and University Students
You’ve heard about AI, seen what ChatGPT can do, maybe even played around with tools that generate text or images — but have you ever wondered what it would be like to build a real AI-powered project yourself, alongside mentors, students, and professionals in the field?
Starting March 2026, Iași has the answer: AI Club for High School and University Students, a program built for anyone who wants to learn, create, and compete in the field of AI — whether you’re in high school or university.
The project runs under the umbrella of Mark AI Integrator, with the support of top institutional partners: the Iași County Council, Iași City Hall, the universities of Iași, and the Iași County School Inspectorate.
What exactly is AI Club?
It’s a comprehensive, multi-stage program that takes you step by step from your very first encounter with artificial intelligence all the way to a national 48-hour hackathon.
Here’s what your journey through the program looks like:
University Tour (March–May 2026) — presentation sessions at UMF Iași (Dentistry, General Medicine) and other partner universities, with live demos of AI tools applied in fields such as medical diagnostics.
High School Tour (April–June 2026) — interactive 60–180 minute presentations with a live AI demo and Q&A, held at high schools such as LT Grigore Moisil, CN Vasile Alecsandri, CN G. Ibrăileanu, LT Miron Costin, and L. I. Neculce in Târgu Frumos.
Club Sessions, every Thursday (July 2 – September 3, 2026) — 10 sessions of about 60 minutes each, covering everything from the basics of AI and machine learning to advanced prompt engineering, no-code/low-code tools (Bubble, Make, Hugging Face, v0), design thinking, and AI ethics. Each team builds its own project step by step, with continuous feedback from mentors.
Intensive Hackathon Preparation (September 10 – October 8, 2026) — weekend technical sessions, 1-on-1 mentoring with industry professionals, and a simulated 24-hour hackathon — all scheduled so it never conflicts with school or university.
AI Hackathon Iași (October 16–18, 2026) — the flagship event: 48 hours non-stop, alongside participants from across Romania, tackling topics like AI in healthcare, AI in education, and AI for smart cities/communities. This is also the launch moment for expanding AI Club to other cities across Romania in 2027.
Demo Day (November 14, 2026) — each team presents its project to a mixed jury made up of mentors, corporate partners, and representatives from ISJ Iași, UMF, and local authorities. Winning teams move on to Pitch Day.
Pitch Day — Judging & Awards Day (November 28, 2026) — each team presents its project to investors and funders. Winning teams move on to the AI Summit in 2027.

Who can join
The program is open to high school and university students in Iași (and beyond — sessions are recorded online for members from other cities). You don’t need advanced technical skills — just curiosity and a drive to build something real.
